WiFi crapped out again and turning off bluetooth did not help. Anything that helps is welcome! I notice that my mouse is smoother as well and overall the network performance seems snappier. I also removed the thunderbolt bridge and ethernet from network settings as another person suggested just in case. Currently my bluetooth headphones are fine along with WiFi but that could change later. I moved my logitech mouse to use the unified receiver instead of bluetooth and wired in my bluetooth speaker.

So limit the number of Bluetooth devices you use for now. It wasn't until I turned off Bluetooth that WiFi was completely fine. I did all kinds of troubleshooting, resetting all the network settings etc. In my case there was a conflict between bluetooth and wifi, I could not authenticate to WiFi at all, whether it be my home or mobile hotspot. Still don't know what the issue was but that resolved it, so I'm writing this up in case anyone else runs into a problem. So for some reason my mini didn't want to communicate with my router briefly until I jostled the control channels around. It was set to 'Auto' and I moved it around and connected to couple slower channels, and then eventually moved it back to 'Auto' and it is working again. I couldn't really figure out what was going on until I started messing around with the control channels on my router config (192.168.1.1) on my phone browser. So I made my phone a hotspot and my mini connected to that just fine. I began searching for some stuff and couldn't really find anything and I was hoping that my mini wasn't just broken. However, my phone was connected to my Wifi and working just fine. The wheel would just spin and say "Connection failed." with no other information. This morning I reset my modem and router, and then afterwards my Mini would not connect back to my wifi.

As the good old IT troubleshooting wisdom goes – If it ain’t working, do a full power off and power on.I thought this might help some people out that are having Wifi issues, not using bluetooth btw. Give the computer a couple of minutes to establish the connection, but if it is not working, reset the modem.

Most modern Windows and Mac OSx installations these days should be smart enough to detect and switch to use the faster cable connection automatically. STEP 3) COMPUTER SETTINGS – SWITCH OFF WIRELESS If your tablet or laptop does not have this port, you will have to buy an additional USB Ethernet adapter Which I have left a link in the above section. Next, simply plug the other end of the cable into the LAN port on your computer. Just plug the cable into any one of the open ports. In this case, it does not matter which one you choose. Some of you guys might have a modem with an integrated router (or switch) with multiple LAN ports. But for most modern modems, just plug one end of the cable into the LAN or ethernet port – Usually in bright yellow color, so you can’t go wrong. Now that you have all the gadgets, here is how to establish a direct connection – Which is actually pretty easy to do.ĭepending on the build and brand of your modem, things are going to look a little different.
